The
history
Stecchini from Bassano Venice is one of the oldest families of Bassano on the Board of the Nobles. In the seventeenth century it had moved to Venice in order to pursue silk traffic, in which they acquired part of their wealth.
In the area of Romano D’ Ezzelino there was in the seventeenth century a possession with a mill and a house belonging to Giacomo By Roman. He sold it in 1650 to his nephew, the abbot Jacopo Stecchini, who commissioned the current complex to show the economic position reached and the, recognition of the title of noble Venetian.
The Stecchini family still lives in the Villa to this day. It is one of the few Veneto villas left, which is still inhabited by the family who built it
Originally, Veneto Villa was the summer residence of noble families from Venice.
These families spent their time in bucolic activities which encouraged agrarian production. Wine, Salame, Honey, Corn, Vegetables, Olive oil are all produced on-site using traditional practices.
